REST IS THE EVIDENCE OF FAITH
For six days, God created.
On the seventh, He stopped.
Not because He was tired.
Because He chose a boundary.
That’s what rest requires.
A line between working and not working.
The problem is, work doesn’t draw that line for us.
There’s always another email.
Another opportunity.
Another problem.
Another dollar.
Another hour.
If you’re waiting until the work is finished to rest, you’ll never rest.
The work is never finished.
So you have a choice.
You can stop.
Or eventually, your body might stop you.
That’s the uncomfortable wisdom of Sabbath.
You stop while you still have more to give.
You leave something unfinished.
You close the laptop while another email is waiting.
And you discover something remarkable:
The world keeps turning.
Perhaps stopping is an act of faith.
It’s admitting:
I am not God.
For six days, work.
Then draw the line.
Because rest doesn’t begin when the work is finished.
Rest begins when you decide to stop.
