WITCH DOCTOR NO MORE!!!

Our weekend conference took place in Maluana, a village in Maputo Province, Mozambique, just 30 miles north of the capital.

We were met with a picturesque scene as we departed from the paved highway onto a sandy path that would soon morph into a maze of roads. Spread out before us were patchworks of cultivated fields extending to the horizon. Vibrant green maize swayed gently in the breeze, intermixed with plots of cassava, sweet potatoes, and occasional cashew orchards. Unlike the smooth asphalt of urban roads, the pathways here were narrow tracks of loosely compacted sand carved into the earth by years of steady foot traffic, meandering snake trails, and sporadic motor vehicles. While charming in their natural simplicity, these sandy roads posed a challenge for our larger vehicle, the bus.

Navigating these sandy tracks demanded skill and patience. With each turn, the bus's wheels struggled for traction, sinking slightly into the soft sand. The driver maneuvered cautiously, steering clear of deep ruts and sandy patches threatening to immobilize the vehicle. It was a slow, exceedingly bumpy journey, marked by the rhythmic lurching of the bus as it traversed the uneven terrain.

As we ventured deeper into the grasslands, we encountered a serene and seemingly secluded landscape. An expansive field of green grass dotted with young trees and shrubs unfolded beneath the clear sky. Amidst this backdrop stood several traditional structures, each bearing distinct architectural features typical of rural African settings.

These buildings comprised a mix of block structures and round huts crowned with conical thatched roofs. Notably, the huts were unique; they had no windows! This served a specific function, likely tailored to the inhabitants' activities and privacy needs.

Contrary to appearances, this wasn't a village; it was a school for aspiring witch doctors!

Finally, we reached the site of Pastor Joel's new church plant. Situated on a striking plot of land, the project encompassed housing, a playground, rolling manicured grassy fields, and an impressive new church building. The church's sand floor was meticulously watered down and raked to minimize dust during worship.

When we arrived, the pastor suggested we meet the neighbors, so we walked from hut to hut. These homes were spread out on sizable plots of farmland, not stacked together like in America. This meant a decent trek through tall grass from one house to the next. And let me tell you, this is snake territory! The locals warned us that snake bites were pretty common around here. All I could think of was Pastor Suprise's story of being chased 50 yards by a black mamba. I found myself pondering whether I'd opt for a quick leg amputation if bitten or risk an hour-long drive to the nearest hospital. These are the things I think about. LOL.

Eventually, we reached a cleared area, someone's home. This person's homestead was well-maintained, probably to keep a clean environment for their domestic animals. And what do you know, the ground was sandy! Ducks and chickens were roaming around. The house was made from natural materials like grass or maybe bamboo, which is typical of the region. Not only are these materials abundant, but they also offer excellent insulation against the daytime heat and retain warmth at night. And guess whose home it was? Antonio the Witch Doctor!

Pastor Joel has been building a solid rapport with him, earning his trust and sharing the message of Jesus. As we approached, Pastor Eric McCoy sought the Lord for a word of knowledge, and he was shown a picture of the man casting spells onto a fire. During our conversation, Eric felt prompted to share what he had seen, and to our amazement, the man confirmed its truth. Eric then asked him if he was ready to leave his past behind, to which the man expressed he was in the process of doing so.

Sensing an opportunity, I asked if we could offer a blessing, to which he agreed. But before proceeding, I took a moment to explain the gospel to him: that it's forgiveness, not goodness, that grants entry to heaven; that sin leads to death, but God's gift is eternal life. As we prayed for him, the presence of the Lord descended upon us like a gentle wind. We invited the love of God to envelop him and asked what he was experiencing. He responded that he felt the love and peace of God washing over him.

Taking this as a sign, I asked if he would like to receive Jesus into his life, to which he agreed. And so, with hearts full of hope, we led him in the sinner's prayer, welcoming him into the family of believers.

After leading him in the sinner's prayer, I asked if he desired to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I explained that this would require him to relinquish all other spirits and solely embrace the Holy Spirit. Initially hesitant, he expressed his unreadiness for such a commitment. I likened his spirits to ants, small and powerless compared to the Holy Spirit's might. He eventually agreed after illustrating the stark contrast between his demons and the Holy Spirit.

He renounced the witchcraft and evil spirits. I then turned to Eric, requesting him to guide the man through receiving the Holy Spirit. As Eric prayed, the man began to cough. In response, I gave him a reassuring slap, declaring, "Yep, every one of you guys come out!" I noticed that several of his family members coughed simultaneously at that very moment.

As Eric prayed, the man began to speak in what appeared to be tongues, the initial evidence of Holy Spirit baptism. 

Feeling the urgency, I sensed the importance of declaring Antonio's allegiance to Jesus to the demonic forces assigned to that area. With authority, I commanded every unclean spirit to vacate the property lines and commissioned four angels to stand guard at the four corners of his land.

The following day, after the service concluded, Abigail rushed up to me excitedly, exclaiming, "Dad, Antonio is here!"

Spotting him as he exited the meeting, dressed casually in blue jeans and a white button-up shirt, I called out to him. "Antonio!" He turned and gave me a big hug. He then introduced me to his wife. 

This was Antonio's first time setting foot inside a church!

Addressing him, I declared, "Antonio, you are no longer a witch doctor; you are now a man of God!" 

Looking him in the eye, I added, "When I return, I expect to see you as a leader in this church." 

He chuckled at the prospect and nodded in agreement, signaling a new chapter in his life's journey.

JUST DANCE!

We had the incredible privilege of spending the weekend with Pastor Supressa (aka Pastor Surprise) and his remarkable wife, Tryphina: these two walk in humility, grace, and crazy supernatural power!! Pastor Surprise has such an incredible testimony!! He was raised amidst a family tradition of witch doctors. Despite being groomed for the same path, his life took a dramatic turn at age 15 when the audible voice of God called out to him in the dead of night, addressing him by name, "Surprise!" Urged by the voice in the night, he and his closest friend, Gafar, fled their village into the depths of the jungle. After two weeks of supernatural survival, they found their way out of the dangerous jungle and emerged into a town where a compassionate man awaited them. Guided by a dream from God, this man had been instructed to welcome and care for the two boys upon their arrival. This is just scratching the surface of Pastor Surpise's story. Those familiar with our ministry or my book "Carve" know his and his wife's impact on my life. Their story is one of divine intervention and unwavering faith, inspiring all who hear it.  I’ll be sure to include a link to Pastor Surprise’s book and my podcast with him at the end of this email.

This past weekend, my family had the honor of ministering at two of Pastor Surprise's churches on Pentecost Sunday. The first service began at 8 am in a beautiful chapel nestled within the serene grounds of La Villa Vita, a beautiful resort with Tuscan-inspired architecture. Picture sun-kissed terracotta walls adorned with creeping ivy, cobblestone pathways leading to lush gardens, and the gentle splashing of fountains filling the air. Inside the chapel, the rustic Tuscan theme continued, with sturdy wooden pews arranged neatly before a magnificent altar. Stained glass windows depicting crosses cast a soft, colorful light, creating an atmosphere of reverence and anticipation.

Sophia received a powerful revelation during the service—a word of knowledge about a perpetual waterfall cascading over the church. She explained that this waterfall symbolized the never-ending power of God, a boundless source where individuals could be continuously replenished and revitalized. She prophesied that a river would extend beyond the church's walls, saturating neighboring villages and towns with the life-giving waters of God's love and grace.

In a prophetic picture, Abigail also saw this waterfall pouring onto people's heads, into their minds and hearts of people, streaming down into their very beings and overflowing from their innermost depths and out of their bellies. This imagery represented a divine exchange: blessings pouring in and blessings pouring out, joy entering and joy overflowing outward. 

After sharing this picture, Abigail led an activation exercise, guiding everyone to place their hands upon their heads. She invited the presence of the Holy Spirit, declaring that individuals be filled to overflowing from their heads, becoming vessels through which blessings and joy could flow into the world around them. 

Andrea and Pastor Gail received the same prophetic word for the church—a powerful message about the peace of God surpassing all understanding and the longing of the Prince of Peace to encounter His Church. Andrea then released a declaration and blessing of God's peace into the atmosphere.

Then I preached, and while the specifics escaped me, I'm sure it was a fantastic message.

As the service concluded, the power of God was tangible. Our family and Pastor Gail began laying hands on people throughout the congregation. One young man, the keyboardist, was overcome by the power of God and fell to the ground. When he rose, he shared an incredible testimony—after suffering from chronic back pain for 6 ½ years, he was completely healed by Jesus. 

After the service, we embarked on a thirty-five-minute journey to the White River Campus, a village outreach serving local families and children. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Pastor Tryphina, who led the worship. The atmosphere was charged with the presence of God, and her voice echoed through the space, carving out a realm of breakthrough.

Suddenly, an older woman from the congregation made her way to the front and began to dance. Pastor Surprise leaned over to me and chuckled, "She's 105 years old!" It was filled with laughter and awe as this woman danced with strength and passion, drawing others to join her. Soon, a diverse group of congregants spanning generations formed a lively circle, swaying and rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.

Dancing is woven deeply into African culture's social fabric and cultural expression. Across the continent, dance is a form of celebration, communication, and worship. It transcends language barriers, allowing individuals to express their deepest emotions and connect with others profoundly. In African societies, all generations participate in dancing, fostering a sense of unity and community cohesion. Elders pass down traditional dances to younger generations, preserving cultural heritage and reinforcing bonds within families and communities.

Dancing holds special significance in the Bible and within our Judaic roots, as seen throughout the Scriptures. The Bible is overflowing with references to dance as a form of worship and expression of joy. In Psalms, for example, King David danced before the Lord with all his might, celebrating God's faithfulness and deliverance. In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul encourages believers to "praise Him with timbrel and dance" (Psalm 150:4), emphasizing the role of dance in glorifying God.

As Pastor Surprise took the stage, he spoke about the significance of it being Pentecost Sunday. He shared how he had requested the presence of all five of his sons for this particular service, desiring to bless them on this day. At the end of my message, I, too, sensed that I should extend a blessing to his boys. The Lord had given me a prophetic word regarding the symbolism of five sons, representing grace and the manifold graces that would be bestowed upon them. Drawing from Ephesians 4 and the five-fold ministry concept, I articulated how distinct and diverse operations of grace would empower each of them.

As the service ended, I sensed the prompting of the Holy Spirit to deliver a word to the congregation regarding the significance of their purpose, drawing from Revelation 5 and the imagery of the sealed scroll of the Lamb. I expounded upon the symbolism of the scroll as the Lamb's book, encapsulating their lives, callings, and purposes. Urging them to embrace a prophetic and revelatory perspective, I emphasized the importance of fighting for clarity and insight lest they lose sight of their destiny in Christ. Encouraging them to yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit courageously, I imparted a declaration of empowerment and purpose, inviting them to step boldly into the fullness of God's plan for their lives.

Throughout both services, a prophetic thread began to tie everything together. God was highlighting the institution of family as a primary means of revealing Himself to His people. We recognize God as the Father, Jesus as the Son, and ourselves as children of God, even referred to as the bride of Christ. In the Kingdom, family is central!!

This concept is further underscored by the significance of the scroll of the Lamb, an ancient genealogy that predates even Abraham and Adam. Genealogies hold immense importance in the Word of God as they represent prophetic identity and inheritance. They serve as a highway of sorts, creating a grid of compounding momentum through which the sovereignty of God is revealed. Whether emphasizing the importance of our natural or spiritual family, we must understand that we have been woven into a Kainos family—a new creation family, the living body of Christ.

This sacred and profound truth is the revelation of the Gospel of the Kingdom and should inspire, yup, you guessed it, joyful dancing!!

Hey Friends,

From the start, I want to be transparent: this email might feel more like a therapeutic session than an inspirational email about missions. 

Our departure from SeaTac Airport in Seattle, Washington resembled that of NASA’s struggle to get our astronauts outside Earth's orbit, almost like it was never meant to happen. 

The journey began promisingly enough, with us boarding our first flight on schedule. However, just 15 minutes after settling into our seats, we received the dreaded announcement: we needed to deplane due to a fuel issue. After a thirty-minute delay, we reboarded, only to find ourselves grounded for another hour. Then, a voice crackled over the intercom: "Dear passengers, we regret to inform you that, due to exceeding FAA regulations, our departure window has closed. A new flight team will need to take over, resulting in the cancellation of this flight. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience."

Despite all these hiccups, we did our best to roll with the punches and keep a Christ-like attitude—emphasis on "did our best." We hunted down alternative routes and made some big changes to our plans, just trying to keep things on track amidst the chaos.

Our connections to Johannesburg were already quite tight, and our schedule upon arrival was packed. We planned to rent a large van and embark on an eight-hour drive north to the top of Kruger Park for a self-guided tour to the south gate before meeting up with Pastor Surprise in Nelspruit. Landing in Johannesburg meant sacrificing a day to travel, so a 24-hour delay would entail rebooking our rental car and rearranging our rest camp accommodations in the park.

Andrea took charge, diligently researching alternative routes from Seattle to Johannesburg. After much persuasion, she managed to secure us a flight departing six hours later from Seattle via Paris en route to Johannesburg. However, there was a hiccup: someone forgot to inform our luggage of all the changes, and it ended up on a different path, passing through Atlanta before reaching Johannesburg, where it sat in airport purgatory for about 72 hours. We scrambled to cancel and rebook reservations, making significant adjustments to our plans. Finally arriving in Johannesburg, we found ourselves waiting in a customs line for over three hours, with around eighty-hundred people funneling through only three customs agents.

However, amidst all the chaos, we found ourselves cruising down the rugged gravel roads of Kruger Park, living out of our backpacks, where we narrowly avoided running over a massive Black Mamba Snake. As if on cue, a gang of misfit giraffes swaggered onto the road ahead of us while another group blocked our path from behind, bringing us to a standstill. Meanwhile, a friendly ostrich casually munched on tree leaves by the roadside, and we stumbled upon a lion couple enjoying a siesta in the shade, with the female lion gracing us with a curious glance. At one of the campsites, a family of hippos lounged in the pond just outside our sleeping quarters, serenading us with their grunts through the night and serving as our unconventional alarm clock the next morning.

There is no place on Earth like Africa—the diverse terrain, the captivating wildlife, the rhythmic music, the spirited dancing, the infectious smiles—all woven together to create a life-changing encounter. And the revelation always hits differently: you can travel to the farthest reaches of the globe, and you will find brothers and sisters in Christ. We're not just part of something grander than ourselves—we're part of something downright epic: the vast, extraordinary, and super cool family of God.

Reflections from High Above the Indian Ocean

Hey Supernaturalist Family,

Here’s some thoughts from high above the Indian Ocean.

Back in 2016, our family of five (Sophia was just two and a half then) went to Indonesia. It was a bittersweet trip. My dad had just passed away from a heart attack on his flight to Ukraine from Indonesia, and he'd left a suitcase (his Indonesian home) behind in Jakarta. It felt like a piece of him was still there.

It had also been 14 years since I'd been to Indonesia. I wanted my family to meet Pastor Ginting, who had prophesied about my future ministry and family. Not only did we meet him, but he even asked us to minister at two of his church campuses! We were honored.

On this trip, Andrea and I made sure to include the kids in every ministry opportunity, on and off the stage. One of our favorite moments was seeing the kids praying for healing. Three of them prayed for a lady in a wheelchair, and she started walking! Peter prayed for a man who was deaf, and the Lord opened his ear! Even Sophia, at just two years old, prayed with such faith, telling a woman backstage, "Receive your healing NOW, now tomorrow, right NOW!"

That trip was incredible for our whole family, and it really showed us the supernatural dynamic of sowing and reaping. Whenever we’ve been willing to go to other countries and serve, the Lord has always radically poured back into us.

Traveling and Ministry as a Family

That trip to Indonesia was almost eight years ago, and we're still blessed to travel and minister, both locally (like at Valley Christian Center) and internationally. This year, I'll be in 11 different countries (including a quick eight-hour trip to France)!

One trip that stands out for the kids was just a few weeks back, Thailand and Cambodia. It was a long journey on the bus, about eighty-hundred hours, but the family ministered extensively, and it was a powerful experience for them. Once again, we sowed and we reaped significantly as a family.

Now, as a family of seven (since we’ve adopted Grandma Pastor Gail!), we're heading to South Africa. We'll be ministering at Apostle Supressa Sithole's (Pastor Surprise) campuses, then meeting up with our Eden missions team in Mozambique. We'll be teaching in their Bible school and elementary school, and speaking at a youth conference at an Iris church in the village.

I'm excited to see what Jesus will do through our team, but especially through our children.

Family Ministry: A Legacy

This way of life, where ministry, family, and fun are all woven together, has become our new normal. And I realize this didn't start with me.

Back in the 90s, my parents received a powerful impartation from the Lord at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. They started getting invited to share that fire all over the world. It was a powerful time of revival.

The cool thing was, my parents didn't leave me behind. As a kid, I was included in these significant revivals in Ireland, Australia, Indonesia, and all over the place. Before my dad would preach, he'd say, "Darren, come up here and greet the people." Sometimes, I'd even end up prophesying or preaching myself!

Looking back, I see that the momentum in our family didn't start with Andrea and me making perfect decisions; it started with our parents seeking first the King, and His Kingdom, and letting everything else flow from that.

Making it Work: Faith and Family

Recently, I felt a little like my dad when it came to planning this trip to Africa. We have good jobs, and our church is very supportive, but flying the whole family to Asia and Africa in the same year is a bit financially crazy, as some of our friends have pointed out.

We thought about having Andrea and some of the kids stay home, but in the end, I just couldn't see how the financial savings could justify them missing out on an incredible life changing experience.

This made me think of my dad. He used to say, "I don't know how I do what I do, I put it on the credit card and God always pays the bills." This is not something that Dave Ramsey would recommend, but somehow, my dad was always able to pay his bills, and his ministry was always debt-free.

Family: The Best Investment

There's a quote from a movie that goes something like this: "When our kids are born, our lives become their memories."

I realize, before kids, it was all about me, the Lord, Andrea, and...well, me again. LOL. But when our oldest, Abigail, arrived, she made it pretty clear that things were different now. (Newborn feeding schedules, anyone?) With four kids now, our world has definitely shifted a few times! But let me tell you, they're the best. Seriously, our morning conversations are wild – everything from theology to aliens! I recognize that my foremost ministry lies within my family. It's my responsibility to invest myself fully in them, to involve them, and ensure they are equipped with ample momentum to spread the good news of the gospel and make disciples worldwide.

Sure, we have our issues and our share of drama, and we all get plenty of opportunities to practice forgiveness. Every family is unique, with their own challenges, calling, and purpose. There's no competition in God's kingdom, just obedience. And speaking of obedience, the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Maybe this email will spark and ignite faith for you and your own family. Maybe it'll inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, on your own, with a friend, or even with your whole family.

Life is short, that much became clearer for me after losing my dad. If something feels worth doing, then get after it! Our kids grow up fast, and from what I hear, so do their kids. Time waits for no one, so we gotta have the faith, agility, and grace to see what's ahead and move with purpose.

Here's my prayer for you: dream big, plan accordingly, and live a life fueled by bold, courageous faith.

Powered by Breath

As I sit here typing away on my laptop, I notice what's happening; my thoughts and emotions are exporting from one realm into another, from my heart and spirit, through a portal (my laptop) and onto the screen. But my laptop is more than just a piece of technology; it can serve as a metaphor for a human being, consisting of three essential components: hardware, software, and power. 

The hardware comprises the physical elements you can see and touch – like the screen, keyboard, and all the components inside. The software acts as its brain, housing the instructions that enable it to function and adapt to new tasks. And then there's the power source, which can be likened to the battery or power cable that keeps it running smoothly.

Now, think about humans. We're like laptops in this analogy. Our bodies are the hardware, the physical part of us. Our souls are like the software, guiding and making us who we are. And our spirit is the power source, the mysterious "God-stuff" that keeps us alive.

What's fascinating is that while laptops must be plugged in to stay powered, humans have an internal energy source. It's like a divine plug that connects us to something greater than ourselves.

The Bible says that when God created the first human, Adam, He breathed life into him. That breath (ruach) was like plugging Adam into the ultimate source of energy – God Himself. It made Adam not just exist but deeply connected to God's power and purpose.

Some people say that life is in our blood, and in a way, that's true. Our blood carries our genetic code, like the software that runs our bodies. The entire body needs its software, and our heart pumps blood like a software maintenance tool.

But life itself, that consciousness and awareness we have, is something beyond hardware or software. It's a mystery that science can't explain. Consciousness is not the vine, it's just a branch connected to a much more excellent source.

That source is Christ, who has given us the incredible gifts of life, power, and a deep connection through His divine breath.

Imagine having a Wi-Fi signal that connected your device to the internet and recharged it at the same time! This is what the breath of God does. His breath is the source of revelation, wisdom, and how we grow in our character through the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

You are intricately connected, unified with Christ, constantly powered by His ruach, and empowered to assimilate His Kingdom realities into the world. 

Be reminded today of his beauty and faithfulness through this beautiful and holy connection with your Father of Lights.

CHRISTIANS AND FREQUENCY HEALING

CHRISTIANS ARE SPENDING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON CRYSTAL BOWLS AND RECEIVING FREQUENCY HEALING TREATMENTS. SHOULD CHRISTIANS SEEK HEALING FROM BUDDHA BOWLS?

Within the depths of our nation, a resurgence of witchcraft and spiritism has stealthily swept through the corridors of society, evading the discernment of the American church. Believe it or not, social media platforms have shockingly unveiled staggering statistics that capture Generation Z's and Millennials' fascination with all things witchy. For example, the hashtag #witchtok (according to 2022 analytics) garnered over 30 billion views!

• In 1990 a survey by Trinity College in Connecticut estimated that were around 8,000 Wicca followers in the United States of America.

• By 2008, the U.S. Census Bureau revealed a rather unexpected figure of 342,000 adherents!

• In 2014, the Pew Research Center study expanded that projection even further, indicating that approximately 0.4% of Americans identified as pagan, approximately 1,324,000!!

• It is now being projected that by 2050, the number of Americans practicing "other religions" outside the major faiths would triple, partly due to increased individuals switching to Wicca and pagan religions.
  

America is veering away from a strictly humanistic trajectory. The influence of radical atheists within the influencer scene seems to have diminished, and the idea of a purely secular world devoid of other realms and spirits is losing its grip on popular belief.

A broader perspective is taking hold due to the rise in popularity of hallucinogenics and the persuasive voices of figures like Tim Ferris and Joe Rogan.

Sociologists even have a name for it: they say that America is becoming "enchanted."

As we observe the shifting tides of belief and the increasing fascination with the mystical, we find ourselves standing at a significant crossroads in our nation's history. Regardless of our inclinations, we cannot deny that people's enduring interest in the enigmatic and spiritual shapes a new narrative. It is a testament to the inherent search within the hearts of humanity, a longing for something transcendent and divine. This longing reflects our intrinsic need for a relationship with God and points to the eternal truth that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Bewitched

The rapid and drastic shift from science being America's favored religion to a full-blown embrace of spiritism has caused reverberations that undeniably influence and impact the church. If the Apostle Paul were to pen a letter to today's modern Christian, it might echo his sentiments in Galatians 3: "Oh, foolish Americans! Who has cast a spell on you? Who has beguiled you, preventing you from obeying the truth?"

To be bewitched signifies being ensnared or controlled by the allure of magic and sorcery. It implies a state of being enchanted, captivated, or fascinated by supernatural or mystical forces. When one is bewitched, it suggests a profound enthrallment or enchantment, as if under the influence of a spell or mystical power. Metaphorically speaking, it describes a deep infatuation or fascination that overwhelms one's thoughts, emotions, or actions. It can also imply being manipulated or deceived by someone or something. In essence, being bewitched entails being under the sway of enchantment or spellbinding influence, whether it be literal or figurative.

Frequency Therapy 

One aspect of this bewitchment that is permeating the Christian church is the integration of frequency therapy as a means of healing for the body and soul. This integration attempts to blend Christianity and science as a foundation for how frequencies created by singing bowls can be a significant source for healing.

However, it is crucial to acknowledge that the origins of this healing practice do not stem from Christianity, Christians, or even our Jewish heritage. Instead, they trace back to Eastern spiritism, and ancient occult modalities.

Singing Bowls

Singing bowls encompass various shapes, sizes, and materials, each claiming to offer unique qualities and therapeutic benefits. In this exploration, I'll show you multiple examples of bowls being utilized in frequency therapy, focusing on their claimed resonating properties and the healing energy and spiritual frequencies they generate.

Tibetan Bowls

These miniature metal bowls allegedly emit two distinct notes when struck. Curiously, it is believed that producing these notes by striking the rim rather than the bowl's bottom yields different frequencies. Proponents claim that these varying frequencies offer diverse healing modalities.

Crystal Bowls

Another category of interest is the crystal bowls, which exhibit a variety of compositions depending on the infused gems within their glass structure. Most commonly, crystal quartz finds its way into these bowls. Advocates of bowl therapy assert that crystal quartz bowls possess the unique ability to restore energy in a targeted manner. For instance, those seeking a sense of purification might turn to selenite bowls, while individuals experiencing loneliness and isolation might opt for bowls infused with morganite, as these purportedly generate vibrations that evoke feelings of love.

Himalayan Bowls

Grouping all these resonating bowls, they can be collectively referred to as Buddha bowls, owing to their historical roots in Tibet, Nepal, and India. Dating centuries, these bowls have played a central role in spiritual practices, meditation, and healing rituals.

Tracing their origins to the Himalayan region around 2,500 years ago, they earned the famous moniker "Himalayan bowls." Primarily utilized by Buddhist monks during meditation and ceremonies, these bowls were believed to induce resonance and vibrations that facilitated the opening of the mind, body, and spirit, leading adherents into trancelike spiritual states.

Hey, at least it's not morphine! 

The intention behind this article is not to express concern over Buddhist monks utilizing bowls for spiritual purposes but to shed light on a growing trend among Christians. It has come to my attention that many Christians, including many individuals I hold dear, have begun incorporating bowls into their yoga, meditation, and self-healing routines. Curiously, they argue that these practices can be reconciled with their faith. However, what raises concern is the lack of personal research conducted by these Christians regarding the origins of these spiritual practices. In fact, many deny these practices' inherently spiritual nature altogether. Instead, they rely on podcasts or ministers who market bowl therapy as a legitimate alternative medicine, leading them to simplify their perspective into a single phrase: "Hey, at least it's not morphine."

Marketing Bowl Technology

Upon delving into the realm of bowl healing, a consistent pattern emerges in the marketing strategies employed. A common tactic is invoking the words "ancient" and "healing" to confer credibility upon these spiritual practices or forms of healing. Using these terms seems to create a perception of legitimacy, as the belief persists that anything "ancient" must inherently be "valid."

Another claim often encountered is the assertion that bowl healing predates the time of Christ. This assertion is rather amusing, as it comes with an underlying assumption: the implication that since bowl healing predates Christ, it holds more trustworthiness and authority than Jesus Himself.

Well, congratulations to the marketers of bowl healing! You have succeeded in making your point. By emphasizing the practice's ancient origins, you have convinced some that it is not only legitimate but also potentially more powerful than healing in the name of Jesus or through prayer from ministry team members in a church or healing room.

I have even come across the audacious claim that the tremendous healing secrets discovered by previous civilizations render the crucifixion and the work of Jesus on the cross unnecessary.

The Role of Singing Bowls in Buddhist Practices

It is worth noting that while Buddhist monks were indeed among the early adopters of using bowls for purposes other than eating cereal, their original intent did not involve healing.

These bowls were instruments capable of producing sacred vibrations, believed to facilitate portals opening to the spirit realm. Through these vibrations, the energy portals within the human body were thought to be activated, infusing them with spiritual light. This process was associated with perceived healing, mindfulness, and a profound sense of peace, resulting from purifying these energetic centers within the body.

Consequently, a connection can be drawn between using singing bowls to create frequencies that aim to open and illuminate the chakras or energetic portals within the body.

Exploring Bowls, Energy, and Chakras

The concept of chakras finds its roots in ancient Indian spiritual mysticism, particularly within Hinduism and Buddhism. These religions propose that chakras are spiritual energy centers within the human body. The term "chakra" itself, derived from Sanskrit, translates to "wheel" or "disk," symbolizing the notion of these energy centers spinning or rotating.

In some Christian bowl therapy practices, these principles are borrowed, and individuals are taught that their bodies contain energetic portals functioning as spiritual doorways or access points. They are led to believe that "energy" or "light" flows through these portals, and therefore, they unknowingly open themselves up to these influences.

They are often told that frequency is synonymous with light, and since all light is from God, the perceived healing is attributed to God entering their being.

At first glance, this may seem innocuous, but the truth is that as people open themselves up, they become susceptible to counterfeit light. What enters is not mere energy but rather, a spiritual entity.

However, this trade is transient, as the spirits rarely fulfill their end of the bargain. Instead, individuals find themselves entangled in a web of deceit.

Bowl enthusiasts assert that the human body comprises gateways that connect different realms. The feelings of peace, interconnectedness, and mindfulness experienced in the short term serve as a form of payment, enabling the spirit realm to open and exploit the individual's body as a host.

The Chakra System

The concept of chakras revolves around seven main energy centers aligned along the spine, extending from the base to the crown of the head. It is important to note that some individuals, even self-proclaimed "Christian ministers," have made claims about the spirit man being located at the base of the spine, asserting that this insight was divinely revealed to them. However, such assertions are borrowed from Eastern mysticism and occult practices.

Each chakra is believed to be associated with specific qualities and functions, encompassing physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. These energy centers are interconnected and contribute to an individual's well-being and inner harmony.

Here is a brief overview of the seven main chakras and their general associations:

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara): Situated at the base of the spine, it is commonly associated with stability, grounding, and meeting basic survival needs.

2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhishthana): Found in the lower abdomen, it is typically linked to emotions, creativity, sexuality, and interpersonal relationships.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Located in the upper abdomen, it is often associated with personal power, self-confidence, and the expression of will.

Supporters of bowl therapy often claim that the selection of bowls is related to targeting a specific chakra on a given day, aligning their choice with the associated qualities and functions of that particular energy center.

Examining Implied Parallels

Many individuals are now drawing parallels between the chakra system and Christianity.

Here are a few examples; I do not believe or endorse these parallels. I present them to illustrate the potential for deceptive mixtures:

1. Divine Energy:

One argument suggests that the Holy Spirit, representing God's divine energy within individuals, can be likened to the concept of chakras. They propose that the Holy Spirit's transformative energy aligns with and activates the chakras, bringing about spiritual growth. However, it is crucial to recognize that the Holy Spirit is not a mere energy force but the third person of the Holy Trinity.

2. Body as the Temple:

The belief that Christians view their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit aligns with the idea of chakras as spiritual energy centers within the body. Both perspectives acknowledge the sacredness of the body. However, it is vital to discern their understanding and significance differences.

3. Spiritual Growth and Transformation:

Christianity emphasizes the process of sanctification, which involves the purification and renewal of the heart, mind, and soul. Some may argue that the chakra system provides a framework for supporting this process. While personal growth and transformation are common themes, the underlying beliefs, and practices differ significantly between the two.

4. Virtues and Qualities:

Associating the virtues and qualities of each chakra with Christian virtues is another argument. For example, the heart chakra's focus on love and compassion may align with Christian teachings on love and kindness. However, it is crucial to distinguish the source and foundation of these virtues.

5. Prayer and Meditation:

Christianity places importance on prayer and meditation as avenues for spiritual connection. Similarly, practices involving chakras, such as meditation and mindfulness, are complementary. However, these practices' underlying intentions, methods, and spiritual frameworks differ radically.

The Challenge of Merging Frequency Healing and Christian Worship

In Scripture, various musical instruments such as cymbals, bells, and tambourines are mentioned in the context of worship. These instruments are utilized to direct praise, honor, and worship towards Yahweh, the Creator, and sustainer of all life.

Worship involves created beings offering their adoration to the Creator using created things. However, blending frequency healing, singing bowl therapy, and other New Age or alternative spiritual practices into one's Christian journey can present several problematic aspects.

Worship and the Sovereignty of God

For Christians, worship is primarily centered on God and His absolute sovereignty. When frequency healing, singing bowl therapy, and other external practices become intertwined with worship, the focus can shift from honoring and worshiping the one true God to seeking healing or spiritual experiences through external means.

This diversion can lead to a distortion of true worship, wherein God's power and authority are replaced with a reliance on specific frequencies or vibrations.

Consequently, it becomes a path that inclines towards self-worship, wherein pursuing a "divine self" takes precedence over reverence for God.

As believers, we must clearly understand the purpose and focus of worship, ensuring that God remains the central figure and His sovereignty is upheld.

Divine Self

As believers, we firmly reject the idea that, merely because we carry the presence of God and serve as a temple of the Holy Spirit, we possess or share a divine essence.

Our purpose as Christians is not to aspire to godhood.

While this may be a common pursuit in many Eastern religions, our journey is distinct. Instead of seeking to awaken to our inherent divinity, we focus on recognizing our dependence on God and embracing the transformative power of His grace. Our goal is to grow in our relationship with Him, aligning our lives with His will and reflecting His love and character to the world around us.

Orin, a nonphysical spirit guide that is contacted through conscious channeling, has this to say about the revelation of the divine Self.

"…your Divine Self is the Self that exists at an even higher level than your soul. It is the Divine essence of your being, the source of all light and life within you. Your soul is closer to your personality and is an intermediary between you and your Divine Self until you can directly experience and realize the Divine Self as who you are."

"Your Divine Self is always trying to reach you, to send you the power, illumination, love, and wisdom to draw higher forms, thoughts, feelings, and situations into your life. Your Divine Self is wise; it knows all and always shows you an easier, better, more joyful way to live."

Yes, we are created in the image of God and have inherent worth and dignity. However, the concept of a "Divine Self" or God-self shifts the responsibility from developing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ to simply getting to know, love, and trust your inner Self.

Under this demonic theology, one believes that they have been awakened to their divine essence. Simply stated, they believe that they are God.

Salvation and transformation do not come from discovering your God-self. It comes through faith in Jesus, who is the Son of God, our High Preist, and the mediator between humanity and God. Through this relationship with God, through Christ, Christians discover who they are in Him.

Rather than striving to realize a separate Divine Self, Christians seek to align their lives with God's will, to be transformed by the Holy Spirit, and to live by the teachings of Jesus. They believe that God's wisdom, power, and love are accessible through this relationship and that God guides and directs their lives through His Word, the Bible, and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

Union Doesn't Make You God

Union in Christ does not elevate us to the status of being God. While some argue that being in Christ and having Him within us should allow us to receive worship, this is not the case. Our union with Christ enables us to become godly and reflect His divine attributes, but it does not grant us the authority to violate Scripture.

In Matthew 4:10, we are reminded to worship the Lord our God and serve Him alone. This commandment establishes that worship should be directed solely toward God, acknowledging His unique and supreme position.

Additionally, in Romans 12:3, the Apostle Paul advises us not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to but to have a balanced and humble perspective. We are called to exercise sober judgment and recognize that our gifts or abilities are given to us by God's grace and should be used for His glory rather than for self-exaltation.

Therefore, while our union with Christ brings us into a godly and transformative relationship, it does not grant us the authority or status of divinity. Instead, it calls us to worship and serve God alone, humbly acknowledging His supremacy and relying on His grace and guidance.

Divine healing and faith

Divine healing and faith are intricately connected according to biblical teachings. Just as salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ, divine healing is obtained through faith in Him. While various alternative healing practices may claim to offer physical or spiritual healing, it is crucial to be cautious about merging them with the Christian faith, as doing so can potentially undermine our trust in God's ability to heal and replace it with reliance on methods or techniques.

James 5:15 states that the prayer of faith can bring salvation to the sick, with the assurance that the Lord will raise them up and forgive their sins.

Suppose we find that operating in the authority and name of Jesus could be more effective, and we begin to incorporate substances, sounds, movements, or unique phrase structures. In that case, it is crucial to recognize that once we discover something that seems to work, our attention may shift toward the method rather than Jesus. It is essential to understand that when it comes to supernatural healing, Jesus is enough.

If, under the leading of the Holy Spirit, we are prompted to perform an unconventional action like spitting in mud and applying it to a blind person's eyes, obedience to that specific instruction is paramount. However, it is crucial not to elevate the substance or action as the healing source. Our obedience, guided by the Holy Spirit, brings about healing, not the physical elements involved.

Therefore, we should remember that supernatural healing ultimately rests in Jesus alone. We must avoid attributing the healing to additional elements or practices and refrain from commercializing or glorifying them. Instead, we should focus on Jesus and His power, trusting in His guidance and obeying His leadership.

Spiritual Deception

In conclusion, it is crucial to acknowledge the potential dangers of incorporating singing bowl therapy into Christian practice. The merging of frequency healing and mystical modalities can open doors to the spirit world, exposing believers to deception and influences that directly contradict the teachings of the Bible. As devoted followers of Jesus, we are responsible for remaining steadfast and unwavering, protecting ourselves from any practices that compromise the truth and power of God's Word.

The Apostle Paul's admonition in Colossians 2:8 holds significant relevance in this context. We must not allow ourselves to be captivated by the empty deceit of human tradition or by the elemental spirits of the world. Our allegiance belongs solely to the will of the Father, the centrality of Christ, and the unadulterated power of the Holy Spirit. Our commitment should be relentless and firmly rooted in the Gospel's good news and the transformative power of Christ's resurrection.

Let us not be enticed by the allure of spiritual practices that divert us from the truth. We should build our trust upon Jesus Christ, the unshakable foundation, rather than on the shifting sands of Eastern mystical ideologies. We must reject any integration that dilutes the purity of the Gospel and jeopardizes our intimate relationship with God. By remaining steadfast in our devotion to God's Word and discerning our spiritual practices, we guard ourselves against the deceptions that may lead us astray.

Christians and Crystals

Christians are using crystals as objects of power, believed to be created by God, to promote divine health and ward off demonic influence.

After some recent discoveries, I've realized that I've led a more sheltered life than I had thought. I've come to understand that some Christians are now integrating crystals into their spiritual practices, citing their supposed inherent supernatural properties. I have also learned of several "Christian" ministries encouraging Christians to keep an open mind and embrace crystals as objects with highly energetic patterns that God created them to have. The most common argument these pseudo-ministers use is, "When sick, you can reach out for your pharma, or you can grab a crystal that God created." One Christian I found on a Christian Crystal chat forum wrote: 

"So I asked God for reassurance that those rows of crystals are okay on my altar, and as I looked each one up and placed it down randomly, it made the shape of a heart."

The claims are that God created crystals to possess energies and frequencies and that some crystals even have the power to repel demonic spirits. Additionally, I've learned that many modern-day believers in the supernatural camp are unfamiliar with the term "new age" and do not object to incorporating occultic elements into their faith.

"Houston, we have a problem!"

Bothered by these discoveries, I discussed my concerns with a pastor I greatly respect in my area. He informed me that my observations are not uncommon and that our culture has changed. He cited a theologian and sociologist who claimed that American culture has shifted from secular humanism, which denies the supernatural and God, to a new era of acceptance of the supernatural and magic, thanks in part to influencers like Tim Ferris and Joe Rogan, who promote the use of hallucinogenics, as well as the media's integration of witchcraft and occult practices. This cultural shift has brought about a new era called "enchanted." Unfortunately, many believers within the greater church have found themselves bewitched by the unique philosophies of this modern era, resulting in, as Paul refers to in Ephesians 4:14, "infants being tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming."

Millennial Crystal Revival

Crystal evangelists like Kylie Jenner, Katy Perry, and Miranda Kerr have recently made magical crystals a trendy part of pop culture. According to a report by Springtide Research Institute titled "State of Religion & Young People 2022," 44% of young people between the ages of 13 and 25 engage with crystals as a spiritual practice, with 21% doing so on a weekly basis. This underscores the reality that young people are finding alternative sources of religion and spirituality in this new enchanted era.

While crystals are currently trending and experiencing a resurgence in popularity, they are not a new obsession and have been believed to possess mystical powers for centuries. However, it is important to consider whether it is acceptable for a Christian to engage in crystals to harness energy for healing and power.

The Crystal Cathedral

Crystals are mentioned in the Bible. God himself created these beautiful, sparkly objects, and they are mentioned in Revelations 21:11, 18-20. This passage describes the New Eden, the New Jerusalem, coming out of the sky and upon the Earth, with portions of this Heavenly city constructed out of crystal.

The Bible also mentions crystals of all kinds, including rubies, sapphires, and topaz, and you will remember the Levitical high priest's breastplate was adorned with twelve engraved stones representing each tribe of Israel. The gems included carnelian, chrysolite, beryl, turquoise, lapis lazuli, emerald, jacinth, agate, amethyst, topaz, onyx, and jasper. The settings were made of 24-karat gold!!

Additionally, the Bible provides descriptions of crystal-clear stuff, such as the river flowing from the heavenly throne and "a sea of glass, clear as crystal" before the throne. However, the Bible does not attribute any mystical properties to crystals, nor does it suggest in any way that they should be used to access divine powers.

Trust "the science"

What about the science of crystal energy? 

The multimillion-dollar crystal industry is based on the claim that crystals possess intrinsic healing abilities and can act as healing wands to channel energy. Those who practice crystal healing derive this idea mainly from the "feelings" they experience when crystals are used on them, which they describe as a vibrating, energetic pulse emanating from the crystal outward. 

Despite an entire pseudo-science being built around the mechanisms of crystal healing, with programs, classes, and books being sold to promote crystal healing, there is no scientific evidence to support the claims. 

One New Age book describes the process as follows: 

"Two things occur when we bring the crystal into our electromagnetic field. The electromagnetic frequencies carried by the stone will vibrate with related frequencies in our energy field through the physical law of resonance, creating a third larger vibration field. The nervous system is attuned to these shifts in energy and transmits this information to the brain. Here the frequencies stimulate biochemical shifts that affect the physical body and shift brain function."

However, there is no scientific evidence to support this claim.

A study by psychologist Dr. Christopher French and colleagues from the University of London aimed to determine the legitimacy of crystal healing. The study involved eighty participants who were asked to complete a questionnaire indicating their openness to the supernatural. They were then asked to meditate with a crystal in their hand, with some of the crystals being real and others being fake. Before meditating, participants were asked to observe any tingling or energy sensations in their hands while holding the crystal.

After meditating, participants answered another questionnaire in which they recorded any effects they felt from holding the crystal. The results showed that those with genuine crystals did not experience more significant effects than those with fake ones. There was no difference in the reactions generated by the two types of crystal, suggesting that what participants felt in their hand was either the general atomic energy of the object or was generated entirely in the subject's mind.

Furthermore, the study found that those who were more open to supernatural phenomena experienced more sensations in their hand, as did those primed and encouraged more by the person conducting the study. These findings indicate that the effects of crystal healing may be primarily psychological rather than physical. 

Dr. French, who conducted the study on crystal healing, noted that many people claimed to feel odd sensations like tingling, heat, and vibrations while holding crystals, but only if they had been told in advance that this might happen. He concluded that the effects reported resulted from the power of suggestion rather than the power of the crystals.

According to Dr. French, there is no scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of crystal healing beyond the placebo effect. He believes the placebo effect is the appropriate standard to judge any treatment. Whether or not one considers crystal healing, or any other form of complementary and alternative medicine, to be entirely ineffective depends on their attitude towards the placebo effect.

What does the Bible say about engaging crystals for their divine benefits?

The use of crystals for divination, including healing, protection from negative energy and spirits, and connecting with the divine for guidance and wisdom, goes against the biblical teachings of divination. 

In Deuteronomy 18:9-13, believers are warned not to imitate the detestable ways of the nations, including the practice of divination or sorcery, interpreting omens, engaging in witchcraft, casting spells, being a medium or spiritist, or consulting the dead. It actually says that anyone who engages in these practices is detestable to the Lord.

Despite this, millennial witches are encouraging "crystal divination" as a vehicle for divine guidance. They explain that divination allows communication with and advice from the divine, and crystals have played a significant role in many divinatory techniques throughout history.

Here is a modern-day millennial witch talking about the benefits of crystal divination:

“Humans have been practicing the art of divination for thousands of years. Practicing the art of divination allows you to communicate with and to receive guidance from the divine. Be it from your guides, angels, animal archetypes, ancestors, or some other higher power, these insights often actually come from within the self. Divinatory tools are just means by which you are able to access this inner knowledge.

From the Ancient Egyptians, to the Elizabethans, and even modern psychics, crystals have played an enormous role in many divinatory techniques. There are several divination methods in which you can utilize the power of crystals for guidance. Crystallomancy, Lithomancy, and Dowsing are just a few of these powerful divinatory methods.”

Crystals and Demonic Possession

In straightforward terms, using crystals for spiritual purposes can lead to possession by evil spirits. Even the Catholic Church condemns the spiritual use of crystals, as they are often used in divination, which opens the door to demonic possession. A deliverance testimony from Catholicexorcism.org recounts a woman who became sick after being given crystals by a well-intentioned Christian friend. After bringing the crystals to her priest and having them blessed and disposed of, the woman immediately felt better.

Many believe they are doing good by practicing occult activities such as using healing crystals or engaging in white magic. However, these practices do not involve God, and may invoke and open the soul to evil powers. The Catholic Church warns against these practices, as they can lead to demonic possession, regardless of one's intentions.

Many crystals available on the market are pre-cursed, as sellers often perform rituals before selling. This practice, known as "charging" the stones, is commonly used in the crystal industry.

Can’t Christians Redeem Crystals?

No.

As believers, our role is not to redeem occultic practices or objects. Instead, our part is to redeem people by leading them to Jesus.

Don’t waste your time trying to cleanse a rock or an Ouija board. 

Trust me; God has no interest in redeeming practices or objects associated with the occult. 

While it may be tempting to think we can cleanse crystals with the blood of Jesus, break off curses, and charge them up with the Holy Spirit, this is not a biblical practice. Sure, handkerchiefs were used in Acts 19:12 as a point of contact for healing, but they were not associated with divination or occult practices.

Darren, you are just being religious and controlling.

Some people have accused me of being religious and controlling due to my stance against integrating the occult into Christianity. However, I want to clarify that I have never been accused of being controlling by anyone who knows me, and I find that accusation amusing. At Seattle Revival Center, where I pastor, we have a standard that our pastors and ministry team do not incorporate new age or occultic objects into their personal lives. We believe that spiritual mixture is toxic and that idolatry opens the door to devils.

I have witnessed numerous miraculous healings, including cancers disappearing, people coming out of comas, blind eyes opening, deaf ears opening, and cripples getting out of wheelchairs. None of these healings required the use of a crystal.

If you are finding relief for your psyche or physical condition through the use of precious stones, I urge you to examine the root cause of your condition. If you surrender your stones to Jesus, I believe He will show up and do for you what no rock ever could.

Concerning State Bill 5599

Dear Friends,

If you have not yet heard, there is a a concerning piece of legislation that is quickly making its way to approval in Washington State. 

Please join me in responding to State Bill 5599, a bill that seeks to take away an important right of parents. Please see details about SB 5599 further down in this email.

Keep in mind that SB 5599 has been written broadly. Although the speaking points for the bill say it is primarily seeks to get help for homeless children, it would also apply to children “who do not feel supported at home.” 

The call to action is quite time-sensitive. I would so appreciate it if you could call take a quick minute to call the governor's office today.

Background to State Bill 5599

In January, SB 5599 was introduced in the State Legislature and now is waiting for Governor Inslee’s signature (which he has told the media he is prepared to sign).  
 
This bill would allow children (“transgender and at-risk youth seeking gender-affirming or reproductive care”) as young as thirteen to seek shelter at a government facility, without their parent’s knowledge or consent.

“This legislation allows licensed shelters to contact the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) in lieu of parents in certain additional instances, like when a young person is seeking reproductive health services or gender-affirming care.“ Source: Democrat Senator Marko Liias  

 
The following is a direct quote from the Senate Bill report for SB 5599:

Brief Summary of Bill

Provides that a shelter for runaway or homeless youth does not need to

contact the youth's parentsif there is a compelling reason not to, which

includes a youth seeking protected health services.

Allows host homes to house youth without parental permission if a youth

is seeking or receiving protected health care services.

Appropriates $7.5 million to the Office of Homeless Youth Prevention

and Protection for providing access to supportive care grants to

organizations in order to address the needs of youth and young adults

seeking protected health care services.

The important phrase is “….youth seeking protected health services”  which is further discussed in the paragraph following and taken directly from the State’s website. Source:  Legislature Wa Government website.
  

“The access to supportive care grants may include access to behavioral health services, peer navigation and support, employment support, education support, case management, advocacy outreach, housing and financial support or other navigation support to secure safe and stable housing, including the use of host homes. Protected health care services means gender-affirming treatment and reproductive health care services that are lawful in the state of Washington. Gender-affirming treatment means health services or products that support and affirm an individual's gender identity, including social, psychological, behavioral, and medical or surgical interventions. Gender-affirming care services include, but are not limited to, evaluation and treatments for gender dysphoria, gender-affirming hormone therapy, and gender-affirming surgical procedures. Reproductive health care services means all services, care, or products of a medical, surgical, psychiatric, therapeutic, mental health, behavioral health, diagnostic, preventative, rehabilitative, supportive, counseling, referral, prescribing, or dispensing nature relating to the human reproductive system including, but not limited to, all services, care, and products relating to pregnancy, assisted reproduction, contraception, miscarriage management, or the termination of a pregnancy, including self-managed terminations.” Source: Senate Bill Report
